Vero Beach Deputies: Homeowner Shoots Burglar Teen Sought

The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting in Vero Beach involving a homeowner who shot a burglary suspect.

The suspect kicked in the door and allegedly shot at the homeowner who was not hit.

The homeowner then shot the intruder according to deputies.

The suspect was taken to Lawnwood Medical Center in a ground trauma alert. Two guns were recovered on the scene.

Late Thursday, IRCSO said they were looking for 16 year old Jessie Jones as a person of interest in the shooting.
