Crews Continue to Battle Brush Fire in Plantation

Fire crews say a brush fire in the Sunrise, Plantation area is now under control. The fire started around 12:00 p.m in a small wooded area near the intersection of Hiatus Road and West Sunrise Boulevard.

The Plantation fire department along with the Florida Forest Service reported that the fire was contained as of 5:00 pm, however, traffic in the area may still be affected.

Crews shutdown about two blocks from Sunrise Boulevard just west of Hiatus Road as they ran their hoses across the roadway. It was not detailed when the roadway will be reopened.
