Trump SOTU: “Americans are Dreamers Too”

President Trump’s first State of the Union address called for “unity” in a deeply divided nation.

Trump said last night there’s never been a better time to start living the American dream. He also said, “Americans are dreamers too.”

He touted a soaring economy and said the days of bad U.S. trade deals are over. He also challenged Congress to tackle immigration reform and infrastructure, saying Americans deserve better highways, bridges, rails and airports.

About three out of four Americans who watched President Trump’s first State of the Union address say he did a good job.

A CBS News poll that also found 80-percent feel Trump is trying to unite the nation.

Florida’s U.S. Senators are reacting to President Trump’s State of the Union address. Trump’s promise to work with members of both parties drew this response from Democrat Bill Nelson: “We need a president who will not only call for more bipartisanship, but shows he’s willing to work in a bipartisan way.”

Meanwhile, Republican Marco Rubio supports the president’s decision to keep open the detention facilities in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

Rubio says too many terrorists released from Gitmo have returned to the fight and threaten the safety of Americans.
